Thank you for your interest in joining the 2026-2027 Cambridge PTO Executive Committee! All applications must be self-nominated, though you are welcome to have others endorse your application using this form.
Executive Board positions have terms of one or two years, depending on the role, and are filled on a rotating basis. All applications will be reviewed by the nominating committee, and the final slate of candidates will be announced at our April PTO Meeting.

This year, the Executive Board will be filling the following positions:
President-Elect
Term: 2 years (1st year as President-Elect, 2nd year as President)
Duties of the President-Elect:
- Assist the President with any tasks assigned by them.
- Preside over meetings in the absence of the President.
- Lead Cambridge PTO’s participation in the Howdy Night Parade.
- Secure all speakers for PTO events.
- Create and manage the PTO Volunteer Form.
- Engage with volunteers and plan PTO engagement events, such as the PTO Happy Hour.
- Familiarize yourself with the duties and responsibilities of the President, preparing to transition into that role in the following year.
- Should have previously served on the Executive Board.
Duties of the President:
- Preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee, the General Membership, and the Combine PTO Council meetings.
- Prepare agendas for all official PTO Meetings.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.
- Represent the organization to the Administration, Office of the Superintendent and AHISD Board of Trustees.
- Appoint all standing and special committee chairs, in consultation with other Executive Committee Members.
- Maintain frequent and regular contact with the School’s Principal.
- Signatory rights on all Cambridge PTO financial/bank accounts.
- Perform all duties that may arise under the purview of the office.
Assistant VP of Fundraising:
Term: 2 years (1st year as Assistant VP, 2nd year as VP)
Duties of the Assistant VP of Fundraising:
- Assist the VP of Fundraising with all fundraising-related tasks and initiatives.
- Serve as the Chair of the PTO’s Spring Fundraiser, Balloonfest.
- Familiarize yourself with the duties and responsibilities of the VP of Fundraising, preparing to transition into that role in the following year.
Duties of the VP of Fundraising:
- Collaborate with the Mule Market Chairs to oversee the fall and spring Spirit Wear sales.
- Partner with the Membership Chair to recruit new PTO members.
- Recruit chairs, organize, and oversee committees for the Mule Games (Fall Fundraiser), and provide support to the Assistant VP for Balloonfest (Spring Fundraiser).
- Oversee the HEB Card Program, with support from the program chair.
- Manage the Cambridge Dining Night program (monthly fundraising events at local restaurants), with help from the respective chair.
- Identify and manage any additional fundraising opportunities to benefit the PTO.
VP of Special Projects
Term: 2 years
Duties of the VP of Special Projects:
- Organize and oversee teacher appreciation activities and fine arts activities;
- Assist administrators and faculty members as needed to coordinate parent support for events that bring the community of students, parents, teachers, and staff together; and
- Perform all duties that may arise under the purview of the office.
VP of Health and Wellness
Term: 2 years
Duties of the VP of Health and Wellness:
- Coordinate and assist with health-related projects with the appropriate Cambridge staff;
- Assist, as needed, with Cambridge’s nurse, Physical Education/Health teachers. School’s counselors, and Cambridge’s food or cafeteria services to disseminate health & wellness information;
- Support Cambridge students in need through nutrition assistance programs and donation drives and services; and
- Perform all duties that may arise under the purview of the office.
VP of Allocations and Grant Programs:
Term: 1 years
Duties of the VP of Allocations and Grant Programs:
- Chair the Allocations Committee and the annual grant review process in the disbursement of PTO funds
- Meet regularly with the principal or designee to reconcile PTO purchases and allocation allotments
- Be responsible for education and communication to teachers/faculty as it pertains to the grant process
- Act as an aide to Treasurer during Balloonfest
Secretary
Term: 1 year
Duties of the Secretary:
- Take minutes at both General PTO meetings and Executive Board meetings, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible for all members.
- Solicit sponsors and manage refreshments for all PTO meetings.
- Collaborate with the Homeroom Parent Coordinator to oversee Homeroom Parent volunteers.
- Manage Sign-up Genius for all PTO events, with the help of a designated chair.
- Organize and manage Teacher and Staff Appreciation Days.
- Support additional hospitality efforts, such as the Thanksgiving Feast and Fireman Lunches.
Parliamentarian:
Term 1 year
Duties of the Parliamentarian
- The Parliamentarian is in charge of the nominations process for the Executive Board.
- The Parliamentarian should have previously served on the Executive Board.
