PTO volunteer positions are one of the best ways parents can become involved and support Cambridge. We have numerous positions with varying responsibility levels available!

Homeroom Parent
Serve as the classroom point of contact that communicates important information from the teacher, school, and PTO to classroom parents. Organize classroom parties &/or other parent needs throughout the year. Time of Year: Year-round, Amount of Time: 1 hour per month


General PTO Volunteer
Throughout the year, the PTO will send eBlasts for hourly volunteer shifts and as needed support opportunities. To be included on these eBlasts, please check here for first alerts and sign up needs.

Fundraising Volunteer Opporunities

Our Fundraising Team oversees all activities that raise money for our school and for the administrative needs of the PTO. Grants are given to our school, our teachers, and our staff in the form of grants and serve to enrich the educational experience of our students. Mule Games - Volunteer Coordinator
Coordinate and recruit volunteers for event day. Time of Year: September/October, Amount of Time: 5 hours total


Mule Games - Event Day Lead
Coordinate with PE coaches the activities for event day. Purchase supplies, set up and clean up event. Time of Year: September/October/November, Amount of Time: 8 hours total


Mule Games - Incentives Lead
Coordinate and execute student fundraising incentives. Time of Year: September/October/November, Amount of Time: 5 hours/total


Mule Games Water Day Leads
Responsible for coordinating Water Day in Early October.


Mule Games - T-Shirt Lead
Coordinate with t-shirt vendor to design and order t-shirts for all CE students. Coordinate with front office to get all student t-shirt sizes. Distribute t-shirts to classrooms. Time of Year: August/ September. Amount of Time: 5 hours total


Mule Games - Communication Lead
Work with Mule Games Chairs and Committee members to publicize event to students and their families via emails, newsletter, and social media. Time of Year: August/ September/October, Amount of Time: 8 hours total


Mule Games/ Balloonfest - Pep Rally Lead
Coordinate pep rally event to kick off the Fall and Spring fundraisers. Time of year: September and April , Amount of Time: 5 hours total


HEB Cards Committee
Work with HEB Cards Chair to distribute HEB Cards to those who have purchased them. Time of Year: Year-Round, Amount of Time: 3 hours per month


Balloonfest - Food Lead
Solicit, negotiate and secure all food and beverage vendors for Balloonfest. Serve as event liaison to vendors. Time of Year: January-April, Amount of Time: January-April (approx. 20 hrs. month)


Balloonfest - Volunteer Coordinator
Works with Balloonfest Chairs and Committee Chairs to determine volunteer needs. Partner with community volunteer groups to work event, manage parent volunteer sign up, coordinate volunteers on day of event. Time of year: January-March, Amount of Time: 3 hours/month **must be available day of event


Balloonfest- Watch Dogs Dad's Grill Lead
Works with Balloonfest Chairs and Committee Chairs to get supplies, food, and volunteers to run the Watch Dog's Dad grill booth. Time of year: Feb/ March, Amount of Time: 5 hours/total


Balloonfest- Communication Lead
Work with Balloonfest Chairs and Committee members to publicize event to students and their families through website, emails, social media, and Monday Mail. Time of Year: December- April, Amount of Time: 5 hours a month


Balloonfest - Tickets Chair
Responsible for creating raffle tickets for children to sell, the envelopes that hold the tickets, and buy and bundle activity tickets that are sold during Balloonfest. Also in charge of designing and ordering Action Pass wristbands to be sold for the event. Time of Year: February-March, Amount of Time: 3-4 hours per month


Ballonfest- Tshirt Lead
Coordinate with t-shirt vendor to design and order t-shirts for CE students. Coordinate with front office to get all student t-shirt sizes. Distribute t-shirts to classrooms. Time of Year: January/ Feb/ March Amount of Time: 5 hours total


Balloonfest - Underwriting Lead
Responsible for working under the Fundraising Chair to solicit and confirm Sponsorships for Balloonfest. Time of Year: Nov-March, Amount of time: 10-15 hours a month on average


Balloonfest - Raffle Lead
Responsible for leading the raffle committee to solicit and confirm raffle items for Balloonfest, as well as ensure all donor activations take place. Time of Year: December-April, Amount of time: 20-30 hours a month on average


Balloonfest - Raffle Committee
Responsible for working under the Raffle Auction Lead to solicit and confirm raffle items for Balloonfest. Time of Year: December-April, Amount of Time: 10-15 hours a month on average


Balloonfest Committee
Committee members will assist Balloonfest Chair(s) in planning various aspects of Balloonfest. Work on this committee typically starts late November and runs through the event in April.


Balloonfest - Sponsor Party
Help coordinate and find underwriters for a thank you party for our headlining sponsors for Ballonfest. Feb / March 10-20 hours total


Communications Volunteer Opportunities

The Communications Team handles all PTO Communications to our school, our community, and our PTO members.


Social Media Chair
Manages and maintains the PTO social media accounts. Posts timely updates and communications for the public. Time of Year: year-round, Amount of Time: 30 minutes per week


Yearbook - Event Photographer
Serve as a school photographer for the Yearbook. Attend assigned schoolwide events to capture pictures. Time of Year: Year-Round, Amount of Time: 2 hours per month depending on number of events per photographer


Book Fair Support
Assist as shift volunteers for the Fall and Spring Book Fairs. Time of Year: Fall and Spring, Amount of Time: One week for each Book Fair, based on individual availability


Picture Day Lead
Helps coordinate volunteers for picture day once in the fall and the spring. 5 hours


Bulletin Board Chair
Keeping the board by the front office with information regarding g special events & PTO fundraisers, Time of Year: Year-round, Amount of time: 2 hours per month


Valentine's Mail Committee
Assist the Valentine's Mail Chairs with reading, sorting and delivering for the CE Valentine's post office. This committee will require frequent on campus work during the first two weeks of February. alentine's Day Post Office Work is concentrated to mid-January through mid-February, and committee must be able to be on campus for 2 weeks in February.


Health & Wellness Volunteer Opportunities

The Health & Wellness Team supports our PTO lead initiatives to support students and families in our community and to support programs that promote healthy lifestyles.


Snack Pak 4 Kids Committee
Assist in assembling and delivering bags to classrooms on alternating Friday mornings. Time of Year: year round, Amount of Time: 2 hours/month


Cambridge Cares Chair
Works closely with school counselors to support Cambridge families in need. Coordinates a program for the holidays to provide gifts, clothing and other family needs. Time of Year: year round, Amount of Time: 2 hours/month, 5 hours/November & December


Stay and Play at Kellyanne's Playground, Chair
Works with PE Coaches to coordinate Family Playdates throughout the year, usually one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Amount of Time: 4 hours total


Cambridge Cares Committee
Assists with the Cambridge Cares Program during the holidays. Time of Year: November/December, Amount of Time: 3 hours total


Bike Rodeo Chair
Work with San Antonio Police Department to set up the Cambridge Bike Rodeo. Recruit volunteers for event day, purchase any needed supplies, set up event. Time of Year: traditionally Spring, Amount of Time: 2 hours/month for 2 months prior to event, 5 hours/month of event **must be available on event day


Bike Rodeo Committee
Assist Bike Rodeo Chair to coordinate event. Volunteer on event day. Time of Year: traditionally held in the Spring, Amount of Time: 5 hours total **must be available day on event day


Field Day Chair
Works with PE Coaches to determine theme and stations for this event. Support PE coaches by purchasing any supplies, snacks and set up of event. Time of Year: April/May, Amount of Time: approximately 2 hours planning in April, 10 hours in May


Field Day Committee
Assist Field Day Chair and PE coaches as needed to coordinate event activities. Time of Year: April/May, Amount of Time: approximately 5 hours total


Watch D.O.G.S.
Calling all Cambridge Dads! Cambridge participates in the nationally recognized Watch D.O.G.S. program. Our Watch D.O.G.S. (short for Dads Of Great Students) is made up of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures. Each school, fathers and father-figures make a positive impact on our Cambridge students by volunteering at least one day each year at school through this amazing one-of-a-kind program. Time of Year: Year-Round; Amount of Time: one day during the school year


Heights Clothing Closet Committee
Assists the Heights Clothing Closet Chair will this program.


C3 Chairs- Cambridge Cafeteria Crew
Our sweet cafeteria needs some assistance during lunch hours to help our monitors! Help coordinate volunteers for grade specific volunteer opportunities.


Cambridge Cafeteria Crew
Calling all parents, grandparents, and uncles and aunts! Our sweet cafeteria monitors needs assistance during grade specific lunches. Come say hi to your student and help for a 30-minute time block!


Special Projects Volunteer Opportunities

Our Special Projects Team support and organize events that take place throughout the school year. Some of these events are grade specific while others are school wide events.


School Supplies Chair
Coordinates with school office and school supplies company to create school supplies list for next school year. Leads marketing efforts via Monday Mail, flyers, social media and on-campus advertising. Coordinates delivery of school supplies to classrooms the week before school year begins. Time of Year: Spring, Amount of Time: 2 hours per month, August, must be available in person week before classes begin, 4 hours


Art to Remember Chair
Oversees the annual project that raises money for the Cambridge Art Department. Coordinates with art teachers and Art to Remember company. Sorts and labels student artwork, leads marketing efforts via Monday Mail, flyers and social media. Distribution of orders and delivers to classroom teachers. Time of Year: September and October, Amount of Time: 4 hours per month.


Family Art Night Chair
Oversees committee, coordinates with art teachers on art activities for night of the event as well as hanging student artwork and art scavenger hunt. Works with committee to arrange food trucks and advertising for event. Recruits volunteers for event. Time of Year: Spring, Amount of Time: 1-2 hours per week the month prior to the event and night of event, **must be available on night of event


Family Art Night Committee
Assist Family Art Night Chair in planning and execution of event as needed. Event traditionally held in April/possibly early May. Amount of Time: 5 hours total **must be available on event day


Hospitality Chair
Coordinates sponsors and food for PTO general meetings, teacher conference luncheons and firemen's lunch. Lead committee in setting up, greeting, serving and clean up of hospitality events. Time of year: Year round, Amount of Time: approximately 3-4 hours/month


Hospitality Committee
Supports Hospitality Chair as needed. Attend PTO general meetings and teacher conference luncheons to assist in setting up, greeting, serving and clean up. Time of Year: year round, Amount of Time: approximately 1-2 hours/month


Holiday Luncheon Chair
Coordinates catering and decorating for December luncheon for Cambridge faculty and staff. Sets up, serves and cleans up event. Time of Year: November/December, Amount of Time: approximately 4 hours planning, **must be available in person day before the event to decorate and day of event to coordinate vendors, serve and clean up


Teacher Appreciation Chair
Works in conjunction with National Teacher Appreciation Week. Coordinates a faculty luncheon and special treats throughout the week. May also coordinate appreciation efforts throughout the school year. Time of Year: year round, mostly April/May, Amount of Time: 15 hours total


Teacher Appreciation Committee
Assist Teacher Appreciation Chair in planning events for Teacher Appreciation Week, and possible events throughout the year. Time of Year: year round, mostly April/May, Amount of Time: 10 hours total


Hooah Huddle

General volunteers that can help with all their fun Hooah huddle activities when you are available! 


Purple Up Chair
We hold “purple up" for the month of the military child in conjunction with the national day of the military child in April. Includes organizing volunteers to help decorate the school with purple decorations after school on Tuesday, March 31.


Hooah Huddle Lunch Chair
It includes a small 5 min activity for each lunch that is repeated for all five grade levels (10:45am - 1:30pm). We plan to hold these lunches on the following dates: • Friday, September 19 • Friday, January 23 • Thursday, February 26 • Friday, April 10


Move with the Military Chair
A PT style event we hold before school on the field and is over before school begins. The event has been planned and organized by Mrs. Shellnut, volunteer(s) will run the event held on Monday, November 10.


Hooah Huddle Howdy Parade Float
Help organize a float or sign for our Hooah Huddle kids to walk behind in the Howdy parade. Must be available the day of.
